SHN3103 Project Proposal.

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 identify a suitable academic topic that is related to their field of study.

2 plan an effective project based on existing academic literature and sources

Assessment Task:

To write a 2500-word project report which identifies and addresses the needs, problems and opportunities of a given situation.

There are 3 milestones:

➢ To submit a proposal for the project in order that the project supervisor can approve the topic and provide formative feedback.

➢ To provide an interim of report of progress to the project supervisor.

➢ To submit the final written report of 2500 words (+ or – 10%) for summative assessment .

1. Project Plan (500 words): by the 15/05/2020 (Please use the template as  specified below and submit it to your tutor for approval Proposal Structure

Key Principles

The key principles which underpin the Student Engagement Policy are that:

• you are an active participant in your learning and therefore must take responsibility for  achieving your potential through successful completion of each stage of your studies;
• engagement in your studies and academic achievement are closely linked;
• lack of engagement may indicate that you are having difficulty managing the demands of your programme of study; we will want to provide support to help you overcome any  difficulties you may be having and which are preventing you from fully engaging with your programme of study;
• any lack of engagement by you may compromise the potential of your fellow students to achieve, especially if you are absent from group work and team activities;
• completion of assessments and other-directed tasks is a way for you to measure your progress and to improve from the feedback you will receive on your work;
• consistent engagement allows you to develop, and evidence, key employability attributes such as commitment and a professional ethos.

3. Absence

If you know that you are going to be absent from a scheduled activity it is a courtesy to let your tutor(s) and your programme managers know.
