Besides, websites such as Medline or the National Library of Medicine (NLM) contain an extensive database of peer-reviewed articles and medical literature.

The World Health Organization defined infodemic as the distribution of health information and misinformation and proposed four pillars useful for public health professionals and communicators to manage the spread and adverse effects of misleading information. These pillars highlight the importance of monitoring the health information on the internet and other communication channels, encourage the improvement of fact-checking and peer-reviewed articles, enforce accurate and timely translation without losing the intended message, and reinforce health literacy and science literacy capacity (Eysenbach, 2020).

This course has provided the tools to identify credible sources of health information among the number of inaccurate articles, videos, and reports that pollute the internet and mass media platforms. To serve as a trusted source and provide accurate health information to other individuals and communities, we should investigate not only if the information is accurate but also if the source is reliable and provide facts instead of sentiments or biased opinions.
